Breastfeeding
Students have a right to attend school, even while breastfeeding. A school can’t discriminate against a student because she wants to breastfeed at school.
Here’s an example:
| Chloe had a baby and returned to school soon after. Her parents looked after her son while she was in class, but Chloe asked the school if she could have breaks during the day so her parents could bring her son in to breastfeed. The school decided that this would be too disruptive for Chloe and the other students and told her that she really needed to decide which was her priority, breastfeeding or her education. This is discrimination. |
