Caring responsibilities
Everyone is entitled to equal treatment in community life, regardless of their caring responsibilities.
Caring responsibilities means a person’s responsibility to care for an immediate family member, like a parent or sibling with a disability, or a dependent child. Here’s an example:
| Kobe is a stay-at-home dad and part-time artist, with a daughter Juno, aged 4. Kobe took Juno with him to see an art exhibition at a local gallery. Kobe was told that he could not take Juno in because there were lots of valuable pieces which could be knocked over. Kobe left the gallery and did not get a chance to see the exhibition. |
